Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Newark, New Jersey
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit has 73 ED beds, including pediatrics and fast track, plus a 19-bed rapid decision unit
• May care for holding patients
• May float to Peds ED (rare)
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• 1.5 years of ED - Emergency Department experience
• Experience working with Adult patients
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• ITTC - De-escalation Training
• IV Certification
• Experience with Epic
• Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays as needed
• Must float within skillset without exception

Clinical Skills

• Central line care/management
• Medication administration
• Isolation precautions
• Triage
• IV therapy/phlebotomy
• CPAP/BiPAP
• ABG interpretation
• Ventilator management
• Continuous IV sedation
• IV vasopressors
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• RTO and schedule requests are prioritized only if submitted with a screenshot; no requests approved after offer
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
