Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Scheduling and Assignment Details
- First-time travelers may be considered with 2 years of strong experience
- Self-scheduling
- Floating may be required to PICU or NICU first, and may also include a pediatric med-surg oncology floor
- 4 weekend shifts per month
- Some holidays required
- No on-call requirement
- RTO maximum: 7 days
Unit Notes
- CVPICU with a highly variable patient population
- Mostly surgical patients, with a large majority being babies
- Common procedures and supports include ECMO support by technicians, nitric oxide, pacemakers, chest tubes, invasive monitors, and bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and cardioversions
- No floating to ED or Mental Health
