Operating Room RN Travel Contract

Location

  • Tucson, Arizona

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Night shift, 4x10 hours
  • 21:00 to 07:30
  • 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arizona
  • OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
  • OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Urology experience
  • Bariatric experience
  • ENT Surgery experience
  • Plastic Surgery experience
  • Experience with Epic

Required Certifications and Competencies

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • ENPC
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • EFM
  • CPI or MAB
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
  • Competency exam specific to specialty
  • HIPAA competency
  • Color blind testing
  • Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication, if assigned to applicable units
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing, if assigned to applicable units
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • State license verification
  • NURSYS verification

Work Expectations

  • Call required 1–2 shifts per week, including nights and weekends
  • 2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Service lines include urology, pediatric urology, pediatric general surgery, bariatric surgery, plastics, ENT, DaVinci robotic surgery, and some GYN
  • No block scheduling requests
  • No local candidates

Submission Notes

  • Do not submit candidates with 7 or more days of requested time off

Required Documents and Health Clearance

  • Current driver’s license or state ID showing address
  • Background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit testing within 1 year of start
  • Tdap within the past 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray with required documentation
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
  • Drug test started within 72 hours of booking and within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • 2 professional references from employment within the last 3 years, including 1 supervisory reference
  • Employment application
  • Skills checklist
  • Work history for the last 7 years with explanations for gaps of 30 days or more
