Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Carrollton, Georgia
Specialty/Unit: CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)
Shift: Night shift, approximately 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel contract position in a CVICU setting. The role requires providing respiratory care primarily for post-surgical open heart ICU patients.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Work Schedule & Requirements

• 36 hours per week
• Must work every other weekend
• On-call 3 times per 6-week schedule
• Self-scheduling allowed outside of weekend and on-call requirements

Important Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including 7-year work/school history, sex offender registry, and state-specific checks
• Education verification (highest level)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap (no declinations accepted unless confirmed exempt)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Professional photo for badge (business formal or business casual attire)
• Completion of competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology)
• Review and sign facility-specific agreements and policies prior to start

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccine exemptions accepted for religious or medical reasons with proper documentation and approval process.
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
• References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles (within 2 years).
