PCU RN Travel/Contract

Overview

• Role: PCU Registered Nurse
• Location: Bristol, Tennessee
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 18:30–7:00
• Hours per week: 48
• Schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 available
• Weekend/holiday expectations: Every other weekend; rotating holidays
• On-call: No on-call
• Floating: Floating to other units required
• Travel radius: Must live 100 miles from the facility
• Orientation: 16 hours of nonbillable orientation

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• RN license verification required
• NURSYS verification required
• Skills checklist required
• Color blind testing required
• Competency exam required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable by profession
• Drug screen within 14 days of start
• Negative TB or chest X-ray
• MMR immunity documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella immunity documentation
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Background check required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry required if licensed/certified in Tennessee or working at a Tennessee facility

Preferred

• Previous charge experience
• 2 references accepted, 3 preferred

Notes

• General orientation begins on Sundays and can start any Sunday once compliance documents are completed by the deadline.
• The facility may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty if census decreases.
• Additional shifts above the work commitment may be flexed as needed for census or resource needs without penalty.
• Contract RN/LPN team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
