Contract Length

Schedule

• Day shift
• 8 hours per day
• 40 hours per week
• Start date window: 9/14/2026 to 9/21/2026

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• Current surgical tech certification through NBSTSA, NCCT, or AAHA
• CSFA through NBSTSA, CSA through NCCSA, or SA-C through ABSA
• 1 year of specialty experience
• Proficiency assisting in orthopedics

Preferred Experience

• Ortho/neuro experience

Work Setting

• Operating room
• Main OR has 14 suites
• Average of 28 cases per day, including same-day surgery cases
• Cases include neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general, and ENT
• No open heart or vascular cases at this time

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical cases
• Scrub role is a plus but not required
• May need to circulate cases if needed
• May float to outpatient surgery as needed
• Responsible for room turnover

Call Requirements

• Weekend and weeknight call rotations
• 20-minute call response time
• Holiday call coverage as needed

Orientation

• 3 shifts

Additional Notes

• Scrubs are provided
• EPIC is used
• No self-scheduling for travelers
• Block scheduling may be allowed if it meets unit needs
• Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year must be gone for 2 years
• Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Only one submission at a time is allowed across the WVU system
• Up to 2 candidates may be submitted per opening
