Overview

Travel contract for experienced ICU nurses in Folsom, California. The unit has 8 beds and uses Cerner.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of ICU experience
• Able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Dysrhythmia exam through Relias must be completed within 24-48 hours before signing

Preferred / Additional Screening

• 2 supervisor references from the modality at submittal, with 1 within 12 months and 1 within 3 years worked
• Copy of driver’s license at submittal to validate legal name

Assignment Details

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend
• Holidays rotate with core staff
• Ratios: 1:1-2
• Charge nurse generally does not take patients, but does break relief
• No nurse aides in ICU
• Vents: Gallileo and G5s
• RT 24/7
• Pharmacy 24/7
• May be placed on-call if not needed in the department
• Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor
• Floating: all other Sacramento facilities
• Common patient population includes general medical/surgical patients, stable CVA post TPA, respiratory failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, and DKA
• No CABG or Neuro surgery

• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Self-scheduling is used, but schedules are not finalized until the manager balances them
