ER holds are intermixed in the ER, and the team cares for their holds

80–90 patients per day
Ratios: 1:4
ED physicians and mid-levels: both
Charge nurse/house supervisor: both
Nurse aides/paramedics/patient sitters: each
EMR: Paragon
Respiratory therapy completes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGSs
No monitor techs; RN must know ECG rhythms
X-ray or CT is next to the ED
Tech or RN draws phlebotomy
