Respiratory Therapist - NICU (Traveler - Backfill)

Job Description

• Provide Level III NICU care for neonates, including:

  • High-risk deliveries and C-sections
  • Neonatal resuscitation and intubation
  • Mechanical ventilation and nasal CPAP
  • Blood gas draw and analysis
• Pediatric respiratory care responsibilities included
• High utilization of protocols with significant autonomy for the respiratory therapist
• Floating required to adult care units and Emergency Room

Equipment Used

• EPIC charting system
• Ventilators: Draeger VN 500, SensorMedicas 3100A, VDR4

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years recent direct NICU experience preferred (less experience may be considered)
• Current experience with neonatal intubation required
• Experience with deliveries involving neonatal intubations

Licensure & Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Active Oregon respiratory therapy license

Schedule & Other Requirements

• Night shifts with some standby hours
• Willingness and ability to float to adult critical care and ER units
• Dress code: scrubs (no color requirement)
