Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) / Level II Trauma
15 beds, staffed by 38 team members
Day shift includes Intensivist, RN, Desk Tech, RT, Dietary, Case Management
Night shift includes Intensivist, RN, RT
Patient ratio: 2:1
Equipment: General Cardiac Rhythm (CR) Monitoring
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech / CPN
Teaching hospital environment

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Minimum 1 year of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current certifications: BLS and PALS

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) certification
Prior pediatric teaching hospital experience

Typical Procedures

IV starts and blood draws
TPT (tunneled peritoneal catheter) placements

Work Environment & Culture

Works well under pressure
Patient care experience is a priority
Supportive teaching hospital setting with experienced staff
