Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location

Alexandria, Louisiana

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirement

Unit and Patient Population

Cardiac and Telemetry patients
Not a Stepdown unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
Temp-to-perm opportunity possible

Job Summary

Independently provides routine and complex nursing care in a similar clinical setting
Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Manages clinical contingencies and makes appropriate assignments/delegations
Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side effects and effectiveness
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience

Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year

Licenses and Certifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
ACLS certification
