Acute Psych/Detox RN/Rehab/Long Term Care

Location

• Norristown, Pennsylvania

Role

• RN (Registered Nurse)
• Behavioral Health and Addiction treatment facility
• Works across 5 units

Schedule

• 12-hour nights
• 36-hour weekly guarantee
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 3 out of 6 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar setting
• Residential rehab experience
• BLS
• CPI
• Pennsylvania RN license
• IV experience
• Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with rehab patients walking the campus

Preferred

• 2 years of experience in a similar acute setting

Unit Details

• Acute Unit 1: locked, 55 and older, coed, depression, personality disorders, schizophrenia; average stay 10-14 days
• Acute Unit 2: locked, coed, addiction and psych, medically cleared, 72-hour holds; average stay 10-14 days
• Detox Unit 1: medical assisted treatments; comfortable giving suboxone and methadone; average stay 5-7 days
• Detox Unit 2: medical assisted treatments; comfortable giving suboxone and methadone; more medical comorbidities; minimal medical needs like diabetics, basic wound care, CPAP at night; average stay 5-7 days
• Residential Rehab Unit: detox and residential services

Responsibilities

• Admissions, with no admissions overnight
• Medication pass
• Assessments
• Leading groups, mainly medication education
• May assist with meal delivery

Additional Details

• No call or standby
• May float from acute to rehab
• Navy scrubs required
• Tattoos must be covered
• No nails
• 3 days of hospital orientation, then orientation on each unit until all units are completed
