Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level 4 trauma designation
• Unit cares for adult women of childbearing age with 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on posting
• Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Experience managing high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and preterm labor
• Experience with pain management techniques including epidural and PCA
• 2 professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including fetal monitoring, medication administration, and newborn care
• Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation, and recovery
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers considered only if they have 3+ years of L&D experience
• Maximum RTO of 1 week; holiday work required
• Prior UW staff must have 18 months of separation before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
