Description
Job Responsibilities
Functions as a generalist, providing support and ensures an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department by assisting in the processing of medications or prescriptions to all patients and appropriate patient care areas
Assists in the maintenance of a neat and clean dispensing area and performing functions as necessary in the daily routine of the pharmacy department
Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
Enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system accurately
Label and package medications under pharmacist supervision
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program
- The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions; e.g., exposure to contagious diseases. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, gloves, or shields.
- Employee can be scheduled at any outpatient pharmacy site within a limited geographic region.
- Physical Demands – walking, standing, lifting (up to 30lbs), carrying, pushing, and reading. Technicians are expected to spend 90% of their shift either standing or walking.
