Description
Overview:
Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), ambulatory EEGs and, as authorized, Nerve Conduction Velocity testing. Records electrical activity of the patient's brain to study epilepsy, convulsive disorders and localizing lesions in the cerebrum. Assists Neurologist in maintaining Neurodiagnostic Laboratory and identifying abnormal neurological disorders. Interacts professionally and respectfully with patients and/or families.
Qualifications:
Education
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
• Engaged in self-study program for at least one type of registration or certification preferred
Experience
• 6 months of relevant experience required
• 1 year of EEG Tech experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
