Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location

• Plainfield, New Jersey

Contract

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• 8-hour shifts
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, plus two Wednesdays a month as needed
• One Saturday a month
• Holidays: not required
• On-call: not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
• ARRT or NMTCB
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved school of nuclear medicine technology

Job Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including organ imaging, function studies, and therapeutic radioisotope support
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracer compounds
• Operate nuclear medicine equipment and calibrate equipment as directed
• Evaluate images for proper identification and diagnostic quality
• Receive, inspect, store, and document radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal requirements
• Maintain radiation safety and contamination-free work conditions
• Rotate assignments as needed, including Cardiology and PET/CT
• Perform clerical duties related to patient scheduling and computer processing
• Use PACS and other department systems for image review and workflow support
• Start IVs
• Provide patient communication and care appropriate to age, culture, language, and sensory needs
