Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location
- Plainfield, New Jersey
Contract
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, plus two Wednesdays a month as needed
- One Saturday a month
- Holidays: not required
- On-call: not required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
- ARRT or NMTCB
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved school of nuclear medicine technology
Job Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including organ imaging, function studies, and therapeutic radioisotope support
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracer compounds
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment and calibrate equipment as directed
- Evaluate images for proper identification and diagnostic quality
- Receive, inspect, store, and document radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Maintain radiation safety and contamination-free work conditions
- Rotate assignments as needed, including Cardiology and PET/CT
- Perform clerical duties related to patient scheduling and computer processing
- Use PACS and other department systems for image review and workflow support
- Start IVs
- Provide patient communication and care appropriate to age, culture, language, and sensory needs
