Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients, including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op cases
• Patients admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across admission, transfer, and discharge processes
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and support discharge planning in coordination with case management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius for consideration at the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
