Description

American Traveler is hiring a Circulating and Scrub RN for an Operating Room position in a rural hospital setting, requiring proficiency in both circulating and scrub roles across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Rural hospital surgery department setting
• Functions as both circulating and scrub nurse
• Case mix includes c-sections, hand cases, podiatry, and cataracts
• Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties may include general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, ENT, and endoscopy
• Straight day shifts with flexible hour options (8s, 10s, or 12s)
• On-call required during the week only for c-sections, no weekend call

Requirements

• Active RN license (ND or compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS as required by facility
• Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub nurse roles
• Background in rural surgical setting preferred

Additional Information

• Provide safe, evidence-based care throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases
• Coordinate patient care, maintain sterile environment, document procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance as circulator
• Establish and maintain sterile field, prepare instruments and supplies, and maintain accurate counts as scrub nurse
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative team members
• Participate in emergency and trauma procedures as needed
• Assist with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, quality improvement, and orientation of new staff
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes and expanded responsibilities common in rural healthcare settings
