CT Scan Technologist
Overview
- Specialty: CT scan technologist
- Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
- Contract length: 15 weeks
- Shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Hours: 40 per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Radiologic Technologist program
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of CT experience
- ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license
Job Responsibilities
- Perform complex CT procedures and related imaging techniques
- Review patient history and contrast questionnaires
- Administer contrast media as prescribed
- Verify exam appropriateness and clarify prescriptions when needed
- Obtain outside studies and coordinate comparison imaging
- Provide exam copies to patients, requesting physicians, and family members
- Evaluate radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic value
- Prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety
- Prepare patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization
- Determine appropriate contrast type and dose
- Explain procedures and address patient questions and concerns
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures
Work Expectations
- Scheduled shifts include holidays and weekends
- Overtime may be required
- On-call assignments may be required
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs, push and pull at least 50 lbs, and stand at least 6 hours per day
- Must adapt care to patient needs, including age, culture, language, hearing, and visual impairment
