Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in New Jersey
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
• ARRT (RT)
• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved Radiation Therapy program
• True Beam experience
• Accelerator experience
• SIMS experience
• 1-2 years of Radiation Therapy experience

Preferred Experience

• 3-5 years of experience

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver and monitor radiation treatment
• Obtain and evaluate portal images and implement corrective measures as needed
• Perform treatment calculations
• Prepare the room and equipment
• Instruct patients on equipment and procedures
• Obtain informed consent
• Transfer and position patients
• Simulate treatment portals using conventional and/or CT simulator
• Document setup instructions and treatment details
• Assess diagnostic studies for field placement
• Construct immobilization devices, shielding blocks, lead cut-outs, and bolus as needed
• Perform quality assurance procedures on treatment units, simulators, film processor, and treatment accessories
• Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions
• Respond to patient physical condition and special needs
• Assist in teaching radiation therapy students during clinical rotation

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 25 lbs
• Must be able to stand a minimum of 4 hours per day
