Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an AL or compact RN license and Level II Trauma experience preferred.

Details

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00), every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating required, with possible charge responsibilities as needed
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or compact) required
• Current BLS certification via AHA required, Fit Test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Experience with IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac required
• Experience with blood product administration, peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care preferred
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications preferred
• Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with surgical drains preferred
• Paragon charting system experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, wound management, and isolation precautions for adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients
• May occasionally take on charge nurse responsibilities
• Candidates with pending licenses may be considered
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles are considered
