Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring LDRP experience and AR or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work within the Labor and Delivery unit providing care across all aspects of LDRP, including nursery and postpartum care
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Rotating weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month

Requirements

• Active RN license, AR or compact, currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, and maintaining central lines
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating or scrubbing for C-sections
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care and assessment
• Experience administering medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive LDRP nursing care including antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and infant identification and banding
• Support high-risk deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage and shock
• Provide lactation and breastfeeding support to postpartum patients
• Assist with surgical procedures including D&C, tubal ligation, and cervical cerclage
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Flexible on start date and contract length
