Location: Ashland, Wisconsin Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Shifts: Days and nights, 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• One year of experience

Unit Details

• Department: Behavioral Health
• Beds: 10
• Patient population: Adults only; psych and detox. Common diagnoses include alcohol use disorder, polysubstance use, alcohol detox, depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: At most 1:5 (mostly 1:3)
• IVs: Rarely
• Physical restraints: Rarely
• Telemetry: None on this unit
• Charge nurse: Available 24/7, and takes patients
• Support staff: One nurse aide or unit coordinator per 7a-7p shift (CNA duties and secretarial duties)
• Respiratory therapy: Available if needed
• Orientation: 2-3 days with a preceptor

Schedule and Expectations

• Scheduling: No self or block schedules. The director makes the schedule, with flexible scheduling offered.
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Every other holiday
• Call or standby: None
• Floating: None
• Dress code: Scrubs or street clothes, appropriate and not provocative. No tank tops, blue jeans, or open-toed shoes. Photo name tags required.

Housing

• Housing leads available (at additional cost). Candidates are asked to look into housing in the area when submitting.
