What the unit is really like
This is more of a high-acuity Med/Surg or stepdown unit than a traditional ICU. The rural hospital has a 20-bed unit with an average daily census of 12–18 patients.
You should be comfortable with:
- Higher-acuity medical and surgical patients.
- Patients requiring drips and closer monitoring.
- Variable workloads, with nurse-to-patient ratios occasionally reaching 1:7.
- Adapting to a smaller hospital environment and floating when needed.
Important eligibility restriction
The posting excludes travelers whose home location or current facility is within 50 miles of Facility.
The manager will call, with the CSM texting MRG according to the posting. Previous travel is preferred, and candidates should be resilient and comfortable with changing assignments.

Pros
I met her a year ago, and was wanting to travel but I didn’t have my multi-state licenses yet. She remembered me! Not long ago she reached out to me and said she wanted to help me and that she had some terrific leads. She got me into a job in Wisconsin, and she checks on me all the time. I couldn’t ask for a better recruiter and friend! I am so blessed to have been one of her clients! I will send everyone I know to her!! ❤️"
