Pediatric ER RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Based in the Pediatric ER at a children’s hospital
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 16:00–4:30
- 48 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room (1 year of experience)
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ENPC
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a(n) Emergency Department or Pediatric ER/ED setting
- Driver's License
- Triage
- Pediatric Dosage Calculations
- Phlebotomy
- IV insertion skills
- Interpretation of 12 Lead EKG
- Interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Pending license accepted
- COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted if the exemption form is completed and signed by a provider for medical exemption
- Must work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day for holiday pay
- No locals within 100 miles
Preferred
- Trauma/resuscitation experience
Scheduling and Float
- Weekends scheduled as needed
- May occasionally float to the Pediatric admission floors
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- On-call is not required
- Greater than 7 days of RTO needs approval
Additional Notes
- First-timers accepted with strong experience
- Ratios are 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends, and can increase when the unit is busy
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
- A 6-month break is required for travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached their one-year mark, whichever comes first
