Travel RN - Operating Room (Vascular)

Location: Milwaukee, WI (onsite)
Contract: 13 weeks, Nov 30, 2026 - Feb 27, 2027

Shift: 8-hour day shift, 40 hours/week, variable start times between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM

Pay (weekly)

• Gross pay: $3,008

• Taxable pay: $1,440

• Non-taxable pay: $1,568

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at a busy Level III Trauma Center. Vascular experience is required. You will work as part of a surgical team supporting a wide range of specialties, with charge nurses, leads, supervisors, and a manager available for support.

Requirements

• Active RN license

• BLS certification

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience

• Must be able to perform vascular cases

• First-time travelers are not recommended and require further approval and evaluation from the hiring supervisor

Case Types

• Vascular

• Breast/Plastics

• Laparoscopic

• General Oncology

• Genitourinary (GU)

• Gynecology (GYN)

• Robotic (Xi) abdominal

Schedule and Call

• Day shift: Variable start times, anywhere from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM

• Call: 30-minute response time on an 8-week call schedule

  • Weeknight call (2230-0700): 5-8 slots

  • Weekend call: 1-2 weekends of 12-hour shifts (Saturday and Sunday)

• Weekend rotation: Covered with call

• Holidays: Primarily covered with call. Contact the hiring supervisor for more information.

• Time off: Check with the hiring supervisor

• Call schedule is subject to change based on staffing needs.

Patient Ratio and Floating

• Ratio: 1:1

• Floating: Cross-trained to all main OR and the urology center, with floating within surgical services only. No floating to other hospitals.

• Epic (charting)

• Alaris

• Pyxis

Orientation

1 to 1½ weeks, depending on team and shift (subject to change based on unit needs).

Interview

Clinical interview required, with manager approval to offer.

Other Notes

• Surgical scrubs are provided. Scrub caps are allowed but must be covered by a surgical bouffant.

• Free parking: day shift uses a detached lot two blocks away, and PM shift uses the lot attached to the hospital.

• Starbucks and a cafeteria are on campus.

• No call rooms are available
