Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including days, nights, and weekends
• No on-call requirements
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 4-5:1
• Care for medical patients ranging from early infancy through end of life
• Patient population includes telemetry, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, end of life, bariatric, and alcohol detox cases
• Telemetry patients may be present on the floor, monitored in conjunction with ICU
• May care for patients receiving chemotherapy on the floor
• Will not be required to float to other units
• Equipment used includes Pyxis medication dispensing, Meditech, Medscanning, bladder scanner, Accuein, IV and PCA pumps, SCDs, feeding pumps, NG tubes, ostomy, pain block pumps, AccuCheck, and wound vac
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and Chemotherapy
• Minimum 6 months of recent Med Surg experience required
• BSN not required
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Training includes 8 hours with unit educator covering competencies and unit expectations, followed by 30 hours of preceptor training

This acute care facility is a Level 3 trauma center serving a rural community and treating a wide variety of patients across multiple specialties including medical, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and telemetry.
