Shift Schedule

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays required based on need. No on-call requirement.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with comprehensive patient care. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs.
• Identifying patient needs and determining care priorities through thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Developing and coordinating individualized care plans based on both initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Initiating assessments aligned with patient problems or needs, physician diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing overall patient care.
• Documenting care in accordance with established standards of care, clinical priorities, and patient acuity.
• Advocating for the adoption of evidence-based care standards and innovative practices in patient care delivery.
• Providing patient-centric care that adheres to the professional nursing practice model.
• Carrying out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Floating Requirement

This position requires floating to MICU, SICU, and CVICU.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care experience is required.
• Experience with neurosurgical patients, ventilator management, and external ventricular drainage (EVD) is highly preferred.

Education

• Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (AHA) certification.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Telemetry certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• CEU Contacts for Stroke (4 Hours).
