Description
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke patients, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, and various neuro diagnoses
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with average daily census of 50 patients
- Epic EMR system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, physical therapy, and pharmacy
- 13-week contract with 36-hour orientation period
- Includes a specialized 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) for intermediate-level care
- Floating required to other Med/Surg and telemetry areas based on unit needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical/Surgical experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required – at least 2 successful contracts completed
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand at start)
- BCLS, NIH, and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and neuroscience patient care
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
