Description
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, minimum every-other-weekend (Friday-Saturday-Sunday). Option to flex to a 4th shift when available; overtime after 48 hours. Blocked schedule requests will be considered.
Highlights:
- Work in a Level III and/or Level IV NICU environment with complex neonatal care
- Patient ratios of 1:4 providing manageable workload and quality patient care
- Meditech EMR system (experience preferred but not required)
- 24-hour orientation to support your transition to the unit
- 20-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, PT, radiology, and rapid response teams
- Flexible scheduling options available with one pre-approved time off period
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina state license or Compact licensure
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; PALS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2-3 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Ventilator management experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with neonatal and infant patient populations
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Professional references and background check required
- Must complete lab work within 72 hours of contract signing
