Description
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 1845-0715, 36 hours per week, 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)
Highlights:
- Specialized cardiac telemetry and post-surgical step-down unit with varied acuity levels
- Patient ratios: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients
- Comprehensive cardiac patient population including post-CABG, TAVR, Watchman procedures, and complex cardiac/vascular surgeries
- Epic charting system with 24-hour unit orientation
- Extensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
- Unit follows rotation for floating requirements – not first to float
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor nursing experience required
- Active RN license: North Carolina or Compact state license accepted
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Core competencies required: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/Step-down, sheath removal, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac drips management and titration, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, non-invasive airway management
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must be available for phone interview prior to offer
