# Job Opportunity – Pre-Operative / Short Stay Registered Nurse – Texas**Start Date:** August 21, 2026 **Location:** San Antonio, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day shift, 3:1 patient ratio; rotating weekend call approximately 1 weekend every 4-5 weeks (Saturday 0700 - Monday 0700)**Highlights:** - 13-bed Pre-Op/Short Stay unit supporting General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Cath Lab procedures- Collaborative day shift team consisting of Clinical Nurse Coordinator, PreOp RNs, Phase 2 RN, and Patient Care Technician- Electronic medical records system (Meditech Magic) utilized for documentation- Opportunity to cross-train and float to PreOp, Phase 2, and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) areas- Standard equipment includes EKG machines, glucometers, and bedside monitoring systems- Professional environment with navy scrub dress code**Requirements:** - Active Registered Nurse license in Texas- Current BLS certification- Meditech Magic EMR experience required- PreOp nursing experience required- Strong IV skills and competency in Pre-Operative and Phase 2 recovery care- Availability for rotating weekday and weekend call schedules- Willingness to float to related perioperative areas**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a specialized perioperative environment with a focused patient population and a supportive day shift team.
