Opportunity:

RN - ER/ED Float

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float within Zone 4 which covers a 60-mile radius based around Garden City, KS, including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine-Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine-Garden City (Garden City, KS)
• No home base facility - float assignment will be communicated on or before Monday start date
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Treat 6-49 patients per day depending on location
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and common drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
• Will be trained and perform Point-of-Care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Charting system: EPIC
• Unit/department-specific orientation: 2-3 days
• Must be present in state for week of orientation even if first-day modules are completed remotely
• Housing must be obtained within the zone to make floating throughout the full 60-mile radius feasible
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
