Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Location
La Jolla, CA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM) | On-Call Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an inpatient hospital Operating Room setting
- Perform circulating nurse duties throughout surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations as determined by unit needs
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submittal (Temporary or Permanent)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to function as a circulating nurse in the OR
- Minimum 1.5 years of continuous inpatient Operating Room experience (no breaks to other units)
- Recent inpatient hospital OR experience required; surgery center experience does not qualify
- EPIC or combined EPIC/Cerner experience within the last 6 months of work history
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Completed skills checklist demonstrating OR circulating competencies
- Supervisory-level professional reference available upon submission
- Prompt interview availability, including time zone, within the same day or next 3 business days
