Registered Nurse – High Intensity Care Unit (HICU) / LTAC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 7p–7:30a | Traveler may select a 36-hour or 48-hour per week contract | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients (18+) with complex medical conditions including acute brain injuries, chronic disease, and conditions requiring extended multidisciplinary treatment and rehabilitation
• Monitor and assess patients for cardiac conditions and other serious or complex medical needs in a 20-room, up to 40-patient unit
• Support ventilator-dependent and pulmonary care patients requiring respiratory assistance and specialized monitoring
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver 24/7 respiratory care, diagnostic services, medical treatment, and rehabilitation
• Float within the health system to like units within scope of practice as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Maintain strict compliance with facility time and attendance policies, including orientation attendance on assigned days

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Valid Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Must be comfortable caring for medically complex patients requiring respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, and extended rehabilitation
• Must remain flexible with scheduling; block scheduling is not available — all RTO requests must be submitted with initial submittal
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for ventilator-dependent or pulmonary care patients
• Background working in an LTAC, step-down, or post-ICU care environment
• Strong cardiac monitoring and clinical assessment skills
• Experience with multidisciplinary team-based care models
