Description
CT Technologist (Travel Assignment)
Location: Portland, OR 97239
Start Date: December 22, 2025
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (16:00 – 04:30; 19:00 – 07:30)
Schedule: Sunday (16:00 – 04:30), Monday (19:00 – 07:30), Tuesday (19:00 – 07:30; may vary with another day of the week)
About the Role
The CT Technologist provides diagnostic imaging support by operating multi-detector CT equipment to capture and process images for medical diagnosis. This position supports OHSU’s mission by delivering high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care across infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate multi-slice CT scanners to perform exams with accuracy and efficiency.
- Evaluate anatomy and pathology for presentation to radiologists.
- Apply knowledge of CT physics and radiation safety; adhere to ALARA principles.
- Prepare and instruct patients using age-appropriate communication.
- Adjust scanning factors and positioning to minimize artifacts.
- Perform reconstructions and 3D post-processing to demonstrate normal and abnormal anatomy.
- Verify imaging orders and protocols in EMR; ensure accurate patient identification.
- Label images with complete demographics and documentation.
- Prescreen patients for contrast sensitivity and contraindications; administer contrast via power injection.
- Document exams accurately in PACS and billing systems.
- Maintain patient safety and follow universal precautions.
- Participate in clinical research and teaching of radiology students/residents.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, supply levels, and perform quality control checks.
- Demonstrate professional communication, conduct, and flexibility in workload.
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an AMA-approved training program in Radiologic Technology.
Experience
- Proficient in IV/Angio-cath starts and contrast administration.
- Demonstrated ability to identify cross-sectional anatomy/pathology using scan techniques, reconstructions, and 3D post-processing.
Licensure & Certifications
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license.
- ARRT (CT) registry required; candidates with ARRT (R), ARRT (N), ARRT (RT), or NMTCB certification may be considered with documentation of CT clinical experience and must obtain ARRT CT certification within 6 months of hire.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced CT systems and protocols.
- Familiarity with SBRT, SRS, and Breathhold Visual Management.
- Prior experience in a high-volume environment.
