Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team on a travel assignment. This role requires a nurse who can function independently in a small pediatric unit, with the flexibility to float to other areas when needed. It is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with strong pediatric skills who enjoys autonomy while still having support from the ED and Family Birthplace (FBP).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience
• Pediatric Emergency Department experience required
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (required)
• Must be able to work independently and adapt to floating assignments

Unit Expectations

• Nurse will often be the sole caregiver in the pediatric unit
• Support available from ED and Family Birthplace teams
• When census is low, RN may be floated to Med Surg, ED, or FBP depending on prior experience
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work autonomously are essential

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to pediatric patients in the ED
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes
• Float to Med Surg, ED, or FBP as needed, delivering care within scope and skillset
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

• Strong pediatric clinical skills and ability to work independently
• Flexibility to adapt to multiple units and patient populations
