Vivian Updates

In Case You Missed It: 5 Features We’ve Added to Vivian to Improve Your Job Search Experience

We’ve been working hard at Vivian to improve the job search experience, and we recognize sometimes it’s the small things that matter! We receive a lot of awesome feedback from candidates on the site and have made some changes that will enhance your job search. The new features will help users be able to search more specific criteria, expand on their job search preferences, and keep up on trends in employment in the healthcare industry.

New Search Filters

You asked and we heard you! There is now a filter named ‘Shift Breakdown’ to search by how many hours per week the contract is. For example, if it’s four 12-hour shifts, or 48 hours, it will be listed as ‘4’x12’, 36 hours is shown as 3×12, etc. This is helpful for nurses that want to limit their hours and for those that are seeking to get that OT cash!

We also have a ‘duration’ filter that allows candidates to search by length of the travel contract. The options in that filter include 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 13 weeks, and anything in between that may be available!

Both of these filters can be found on the web and app on the ‘Browse Jobs’ page.

How to Request Time Off for Travel Contracts

Another feature we added in response to candidate feedback is the ability to note any pre planned time off requests in your ‘job search preferences’ for all travel jobs. If you click into the travel contract preferences section of your profile, there is a check box at the bottom of the next screen that reads “I need to request pre-planned time off’. Checking that will open a free text box where you can note when and why you will need certain dates off. This feature is also found on the app and web versions of Vivian.

Dedicated Location Pages and Staff Jobs

Looking for a new permanent job? With decreasing travel rates and the potential waning of the COVID-19 pandemic, some nurses are starting to reconsider staff roles. We have partnered with facilities in multiple regions of the US- and we are only growing! Our new ‘Locations’ page highlights facilities in specific areas that are offering some sweet deals for nurses to come on as staff!

Salary Tool

This feature has been a part of our site for some time, but I like to point it out for candidates that do not know it exists. The Vivian Salary Tool allows healthcare professionals to compare offers against ‘average’ salary rates in an area for any given specialty. This can provide negotiating power, or reinforce a ‘fair’ offer for a provider. Nurses can also use this tool to check out salaries of other specialties if they are considering changing their role.

Employer and Travel Nurse Agency Reviews

We want even more feedback from healthcare workers, and we’ve created a safe space for it. With our healthcare employer review page, any healthcare professional can leave feedback about a specific agency, facility, or system. This can be done anonymously to encourage professionals to be candid and honest about their experiences. We want to hear it all,  all forms of feedback are welcome. We do not share candidate information with any of the agencies or sites if you check the box to remain anonymous.

The team at Vivian is dedicated to giving healthcare professionals the best and most transparent experience possible when searching for a job. You can contact the team at Vivian by using the ‘Contact Vivian’ option under the Resources tab. Our support team is here 24/7 to relay your feedback to the team and answer any questions you may have about the site.

Is there a way to get updates on daily job postings in your email and turn these alerts on and off depending on when you are looking for a contract?

Hello Hannah and thanks for reaching out! Yes, you can get job notifications based on your profile and job search preferences. First, you create your Vivian universal profile (here’s more information on how to do that if you haven’t already https://www.vivian.com/community/vivian-updates/introducing-universal-profile-your-passport/). Once created, you have 4 toggle switches for permanent, travel, local or per diem jobs that you can turn on or off based on what you’re seeking. Within each of those job types, you can set preferences, such as when you’d like to start, where you’d like to work (city, state, region), target pay and desired shift, to get more relevant job alerts. If you have any questions or need help with our website, please don’t hesitate to go to the “Contact Vivian” option under the Resources tab to speak with our 24/7 help desk. We wish you the best of luck in your job search and hope we can help!

Can you add a feature so you can switch on to say your currently on contract so you don’t get bombarded with text and emails from recruiters while on contract. It can be very annoying and I usually prefer contacting them 4-6 weeks to contract end. But I get 10-12 text plus emails a day from Vivian .

Hello Jessica, and thank you for reaching out. There is a way to put your job search on pause when you’re not actively looking for a new contract. It limits the number of communications you receive and pauses job proposals from recruiters. You may still continue to receive emails about industry trends, but overall, our communication level is much lower. When you’re ready to begin actively looking for your next assignment, you can unpause. To pause your search status uncheck the boxes next to the 4 job categories in the “job preferences” section of your profile, then check them to unpause. Could you please add a feature where we can look at contracts on a map so we can find contracts close to an area we would like to be easier?
