<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 28, 2026</li><li>Length: 17 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/IMC position requiring ICU or PEDS experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care Stepdown/IMC unit within a 20-bed department (MS/ICU/IMC)</li><li>Nurse:patient ratios of 1:4 on IMC, with MS at 1:5 days/1:6 nights and ICU 1:2</li><li>Diverse adult patient population including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, ortho, sepsis, and outpatient infusion cases</li><li>Occasional stable pediatric patients for respiratory illness, postop appy, or dehydration requiring IV hydration</li><li>RNs required to titrate drips such as Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepi</li><li>Telemetry monitored remotely by techs in Weston, but RNs must be able to read rhythm strips</li><li>Works with RT equipment including CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U, and Hamilton ventilators, with RT support 24/7</li><li>Charge Nurses take a patient assignment; House Supervisors do not</li><li>CNA support available on most shifts</li><li>Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic</li><li>Straight night shift, 1900-0700, 12-hour shifts</li><li>36 guaranteed hours per week</li><li>Every other weekend and every other holiday required</li><li>On-call rotation during low census periods</li><li>Floating required in-house to ED, UC, and PACU, and interfacility to Park Falls and Weston</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active WI or compact RN license required</li><li>Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience required</li><li>ICU or PEDS experience preferred</li><li>BSN not required for this position</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct nursing care to a diverse stepdown/IMC patient population including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, and ortho cases</li><li>Titrate and manage high-acuity IV drips as part of daily responsibilities</li><li>Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips despite remote monitoring by tele techs in Weston</li><li>Collaborate with RT staff for ventilator and respiratory support management</li><li>1-day computer-based hospital orientation followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation</li><li>Navy scrubs required for RNs; Ceil Blue scrubs for CNAs</li><li>Block scheduling offered when possible</li><li>All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility</li><li>Candidates who previously worked for the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration</li><li>Local candidates accepted within 80 miles of the facility, though travel pay rate is reduced for this radius</li><li>First-time travelers may be considered for this position</li></ul>
