This place was the first travel contract I accepted. I didn't realize what an awesome hospital it was until after all of the places I've been since. This hospital is one of the best! Especially for xray tech positions. The cafeteria is also the best I've experienced out of the 5 other pages I've been so far.

Consistent patient ratio’s no favoritism to core staff. Treated travelers well. Compensation above and beyond. Did lack a bit in teamwork occasionally but overall not to relevant as they rarely gave you 6 pts or all high acuity. Very fair on all the floors I worked on.

Oregon has a nurse union that provides for meal breaks and lunch, and safer nurse to patient ratios. Asante made sure that a break nurse was available to all floors, and during the day, you had 3 breaks. It was an amazing assignment. I want to go back.

ARRMC is a nice place to work. I feel they provide good care but seem to be resource poor. They also seem to having a staff shortage. Overall, I would do another travel assignment here.

Great schedule, good ratios, mediocre ancillary staffing. Travelers float out of closed units to staff the rest of the hospital. Epic EMR. High cost of living for lodging. Receptive management. Staff nurses make 50-70/hr gross on day shift so don't take low-ball contracts.

Signed on for critical care. You float a lot. Staffing ratios are good. IMCU reportedly going up to 1:3 as standard. Good people. Ccu staff are a little cliquey but what’s new.

You do tend to get floated a lot, but it was a relatively easy gig, when you did. There was no schedule flexibility and I worked nights and never met the manager.

While I thoroughly enjoyed working with most of the OR staff, I saw too many sketchy and questionably competent surgeons to leave a glowing review. There truly are some top-notch surgeons there, like Dr Denard (ortho), but there were also a few that seemed to have no clue what they were doing when things went sideways, and had too much ego to ask for help. Every hospital has this scenario to some extent, but the surgeons with negative patient outcomes eventually get reined in or weeded out. At Asante, the culture seemed more focused on accommodating these questionable surgeons than protecting their patients. It really made me feel that this was not a healthy OR team.

Mixed bag

I enjoyed the staff and the environment, but the hospital cut everyone’s contracts and apparently planned to re-evaluate every 4 weeks. It wasn’t the agency because it happened to everyone of different agencies. Because of that sketchy behavior, I most likely won’t ever go back.

Charge nurses are very racist and target minorities to be cna’s or to float at all times. They don’t help accept minorities or non-white people into their circle.
