<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Apr 27, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a TJC Stroke-accredited community teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of med/tele experience and cardiac skills.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>44-bed Medical/Nursing unit in a 174-licensed-bed, non-trauma-designated, TJC Stroke-accredited community teaching hospital</li><li>Cardiac-focused patient population including chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, new onset cardiac arrhythmias, stroke patients, and medical overflow</li><li>RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5; CNA support at 1:8-9</li><li>Manages non-titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin drips, and blood products</li><li>EMR: Epic (experience required); IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Philips</li><li>12-hour night shifts starting at 7 PM, 36 hours per week</li><li>Every other weekend rotation required</li><li>Floating required within Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division including CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) — do not apply if not agreeable to this requirement</li><li>Centralized telemetry monitoring/tech available 24/7 for all units</li><li>Ancillary support includes phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist (24/7 in ICU)</li><li>Charge nurse typically without patient assignment, with additional Team Lead support</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NC or compact RN license required</li><li>Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)</li><li>Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele experience required, with most recent experience within the last year</li><li>Cardiac skills including telemetry rhythm interpretation required</li><li>Proficiency in general Med/Surg skills: IV starts, drain/tube management, wound care, NGT placement, and central line management</li><li>Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration</li><li>Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN</li><li>Must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following permanent employment before applying</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted</li><li>Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays</li><li>Orientation includes facility-level NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation</li><li>Unit culture is described as just, patient-centered, collegial, and supportive</li><li>Required scrub color: Navy</li><li>Free parking available on-site behind the hospital</li></ul>
