Chippenham has fostered my nursing career from LPN and moving into RN. The third floor in particular has been very patient, kind and ever giving to my growth as a nurse. 2F has taught me a lot of new thing and other floors have showed me what I don’t prefer as a growing nurse in conditions I don’t recommend for most people and other like that type of environment. Nonetheless, this facility and its staff have been very gracious and patient with my ongoing learning and knowledge. The compensation is average and could be better in most circumstances but understand the way payouts work in hospitals, this isn’t bad as overtime is offered often and incentive pay. I’m happy to have the opportunity to be a part of the mission.

So many great things to say. First of all I worked night shift in this facility. The night shift crew is full of some of the best RTs I’ve ever worked with. Teamwork among them flows so easily. They all show up to help when a code blue or rapid response is called. They are the best. Management was great. The supervisors were helpful, the manager is awesome. They were very flexible with scheduling. It is a busy level I trauma hospital. They keep high acuity patients. You learn and experience a lot. For the most part the nursing staff is great to work with.  The only downfall to this facility for me was the dayshift crew. For the most part they always brought tension in with them when they came in for their shift. Not all, but several, made shift report very painful. I worked several extensions here, so it got a little better as they got to know me. Or maybe I just learned to adapt to their behavior. But thankfully you only spend an hour of your shift in shift report. Overall I love this facility.

Managers watch your every move on meditech. They will call over documentation even on weekends when they are not there. They are really big on personal connections with patients. Constantly asking about personal connections. They are nice, but micro manage way too much. Scheduling is weird. Always short. They let techs self schedule so most of the time we did not have a tech.
