The ratios were good and there was always extra nurses to help. Nurses don’t have much autonomy and in this case docs are pretty involved. The pay is good for the market right now and the area is really nice. The scheduling is pretty annoying and almost feels like the person wants to screw you over. Overall would go back there, mixed unit of travelers and staff.

PCU - Progressive Care Unit

I was a traveler so my experience was not the best.  I was often floated midshift.  I was given unfair admissions.  The staff was okay but the difference with regular staff and travel staff was noticeable.  It was a lot of micromanaging as well but I was compensated handsomely so it was endurable for the time I worked there.

If your ICU/CVICU you will float to every unit, almost every shift. Culture is okay, staff is clicky but fake friendly. The managers have a traveler text thread where they gossip about travelers. You get lunch most shifts so that's nice.

This is the most unorganized, inefficient hospital I have ever worked in. Their processes are all designed to cover their liability, which creates an inordinate amount of extra work.  No time to actually take care of patients because you’re too busy charting on all their nonsense initiatives.

Cardiovascular Technologist

Expect to float constantly. In a 12 hr shift I may have to chart on 12-14 patients depending on admits and discharges. Travelers float excessively. I would be in my home unit (CVICU) about 40% of my scheduled shifts. Otherwise, I'm floating often every 4 hours where you are still expected to to do full assessments, Med pass and charting on all patients within that 4 hour window before you're sent to another floor.  Nurses do blood sugars and vitals as well on the floor.
