I went to KWLA for my first travel gig. I was compensated well, but the facility had an awful culture. Lots of power trippers, poor management, and disrespect from leadership. My first day on the floor, the head of patient experience berated me in front of everyone, for what should have been a teachable moment; I had been discharging a patient in the way my prior facility did things, not the “Kaiser way” and she let me have it. Fortunately, there were a few excellent staff members who made the experience better, and my direct leadership was much more pleasant to work for.

I was there for a ICU Covid crisis assignment and literally floated to other floors 90% of the time. Also management was not very supportive of their travelers at all.

Some people were great to work with, others had no interest in team work and they were the ones with power as charge and would trash you to management. In pediatrics specifically. Over all wasn’t the worst assignment they trained me in NICU which was cool PICU was what I was hired for and I was floated to peds often for the first 3/4th of my assignment. Schedule was flexible which was nice
