The ratios for higher acuity are typically 4:1 and ICU 2:1. Staffing is not good they are alway pulling from other units to cover staffing needs, thus creating the  other units short. Charge seems to have 2-4 patients depending on the acuity, which I feel defeats the purpose of having a charge if they have a full patient load. 
Staff and travelers are helpful but there’s a lot of cliques. Staff can and will smile in your face and turn and report something they don’t like to the manager. 
Weekend stocking of supplies and snacks and drinks are non existent. You have to be creative for your hypoglycemic patients when there’s not juice or milk available.

Not a bad place

PCU - Progressive Care Unit

It could be a great place but there is room for improvement. There’s not enough experience staff, they rely on travelers to much.

If you can get past the unapologetic racism and ageism, it could be great teaching hospital. However, if you’re able to stomach such hate, you really aren’t learning anything or using your skills for the greater good of the patients.
