<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Nov 2, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor &amp; Delivery RN with a minimum of 2 years current L&amp;D experience and TN or compact RN licensure for a night shift assignment.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital averaging 200-300 births per month</li><li>Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)</li><li>Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 for laboring patients and 1:8 for postpartum/couplet care</li><li>Weekend requirements of every other weekend or 2 weekends per month</li><li>On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period</li><li>Floating required in accordance with unit floating policies and clinical experience</li><li>Cerner charting experience preferred but not required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active TN or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submittal</li><li>Minimum 2 years current experience in Labor and Delivery required</li><li>Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN-Intermediate, and NRP</li><li>NIHSS certification may be obtained after acceptance</li><li>FHM certification preferred</li><li>Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date</li><li>Prior travel nurse experience required</li><li>Experience with high risk antepartum care, fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement and calibration required</li><li>Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) required</li><li>Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy required</li><li>Experience assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams required</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and high risk delivery support</li><li>Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required</li><li>Complete required clinical modules during orientation and annually</li><li>Holiday and holiday week RTO requests will not be accommodated for a wide range of specified holidays</li><li>RTO requests may be addressed with the manager after arrival onsite using the RTO form</li><li>Former permanent staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months of separation, but may transfer to another Covenant Health campus after 12 months</li><li>Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit</li><li>Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate</li><li>Candidates residing outside 75 miles of the facility are eligible for standard travel rate consideration</li></ul>
