Pay isn't very competitive at all. Raises are low but they happen yearly. Off and on they offer doubletime to staff but its hit and miss. They're short often but they try to hire travelers to compensate staffing. It is a Leapfrog A+ rated hospital though and I do feel like staff works well together. Things would be better if the company wasn't so cheap. Employees would feel more appreciated if they were compensated better.

The med surg patient ratio for night shift is always 6 patients to one nurse, with frequent flexing up to 7 patients to one nurse. Day shift takes 5. The med surg floor takes PCU patients while maintaining said ratio, creating an unsafe environment. Contract pay changes mid contract.

 American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Med-Surg night shift position requiring Epic charting experience and an active ID or compact RN license.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work on a 10-bed Ortho/Med-Surg unit in a hospital setting</li><li>Care for patients with musculoskeletal issues, post-orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions</li><li>Patient ratio is 1:5</li><li>Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45–07:15); both 36 and 48 hour/week options available</li><li>Must use Epic EMR and have Epic charting experience</li><li>Provide specialized care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients, including education for patients and families</li><li>No travel pairs or groups will be considered</li><li>No more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved; no time off permitted during first week of orientation</li><li>First-time travelers will be considered for this position</li></ul>
 
 <h2>Requirements</h2>
 <ul><li>Active Idaho or compact RN license required at time of consideration</li><li>Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required</li><li>Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required; 1-2 years preferred</li><li>Epic charting experience required</li><li>Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a 100 mile radius rule is in effect</li><li>Former permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler</li></ul>
