The bedside staff was great and the management of the ICU really supported their staff. The only problem I had was the communication with providers. You had to hunt down who was in primary, rarely get a timely response and would be asked to place orders that were out of a RNs SOP.  Occasionally floated but all the bedside staff was extremely helpful.

Job would be great if the LNA staff were made to actually do their job. Some nights I have great LNA’s and don’t have to worry about blood sugars being checked or VS being taken, food trays from dinner picked up before midnight, refresh patient fluids. Most of the time it takes 45 minutes to take care of 1 patient due to having to also do LNA duties along with my RN duties, taking 3 hours to pass medication to 6 patients. If LNA staffing were better, this would be a great place to work. It’s very busy but also very doable.
