Most of the ER staff are wonderful to work with. Obici ER has some amazing employees but the 'clique' culture is very prominent. Management shows favoritism and if you aren't in that category, you will be easily looked over.

What I enjoyed the most was working with an excellent team of RNs, LPNS, NPs,, NCPs and AAs. The ratio of patients to nurse should be lower than 6:1 because of the acuity. Working this oncology unit was among the hardest I have worked. More needs to be done for staffing, supplies and breaks. I stayed because I enjoyed working with such a professional and loyal staff.

We provide care for higher acuity patients in the following areas: Neuro, Cardiac, Respiratory, Renal and Surgical (to name a few).

Typical patients on Stepdown include:

* Respiratory Failure (such as in Congestive Heart Failure, COVID, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). These patients may include those on BIPAP's and chronic trached ventilator patients.
* Stroke and seizure patients.
* Chest Pain, MI (heart attack), Congestive Heart Failure
* Renal Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients
* Post op surgical patients (ostomy's, extensive wounds such are decubs, VAT's, ortho also)
