<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 22, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring 5 years of PICU experience and CA RN licensure.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a teaching hospital</li><li>Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30</li><li>Patient ratio of 1:2</li><li>Uses Epic charting system</li><li>Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed, within a 75+ mile radius</li><li>May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility if qualified</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active CA RN license in hand required</li><li>BSN required</li><li>Current certifications: BLS and PALS</li><li>Minimum 5 years of PICU experience required</li><li>Teaching hospital experience required</li><li>Epic charting system experience required</li><li>Trauma Level I experience preferred</li><li>Previous charge nurse experience preferred</li><li>Pediatric CVICU experience preferred</li><li>2 references from most recent employer required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU</li><li>Skills include respiratory management (ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation), cardiovascular monitoring (hemodynamic monitoring, post cardiac surgery care), neurologic care (ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery care), and renal/GU care (CRRT, urinary catheter management)</li><li>Additional responsibilities include IV therapy, central line care, medication administration including vasopressors and antiarrhythmics, and pediatric dosage calculations</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers</li><li>Any previous employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review</li><li>Travel pairs are permitted but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit</li><li>All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager at the time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment</li></ul>
